So why Nova Scotia?

Why am I traveling all the way from Arizona to Nova Scotia? First I love to travel, see new areas, and take photographs. Next I wanted to get my class involved in some real science research and be part of making a difference in the world!

Can't wait to share with you what I learn on my trip - so stay tuned!

Nova Scotia and Climate Change

We've been studying climate change in the Southwest. Now we're going to move way up north to the area around Nova Scotia. Where is Nova Scotia?! Nova Scotia is the Eastern most province of Canada - surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and just north of the state of Maine. It is home to a very diverse population of flora and fauna and is unique in the fact that it remains very untouched by humans. The diversity in this area is a result of the unique balance of environmental conditions which are expected to rapidly change due to global warming.

What are some of the mammals in this area?
